QTT Detects Green

Environmental awareness, recycling and reducing waste is a huge trend in the world today. Most companies are looking at ways to become more "green" by promoting products and services that help the environment or they are at least finding ways to reduce pollution and waste and recycle when possible.

Did you know that QTT products fit into this "green" trend? It's true, and has been for over 30 years. QTT RWIS and traffic sensors help operations personnel by providing valuable information about weather and traffic conditions in their region. Using this data, they can reduce chemical usage during winter operations and better manage traffic congestion. Using less chemicals is better for the environment and saves money and materials, helping the bottom line.

It has been tested and proven that if you use certain maintenance practices and technology, such as RWIS, you could use up to 10 times less chemicals and manpower.  If snow removal operations are more effective you are also using less gasoline in your vehicles, which is both a cost savings and good for the environment. That can be worth thousands of dollars during each winter season! Numerous studies on cost savings of RWIS have been conducted over the years to prove the benefits of RWIS. In addition, traffic data allows better management of traffic congestion, which leads to less pollution, fewer accidents and safer traveling environments. Data from traffic studies can be used to improve roadway design, which can vastly improve traffic efficiency.  Traffic study data can also provide valuable insight on how a new development will impact the region, and ensure new traffic congestion can be minimized. QTT traffic sensors were developed with “green” concepts in mind over 30 years ago, and being part of this trend is just an additional perk your operations receives when using our products.
